Herne Hill Ward By-Election Selection

Following the election of Lambeth Labour Herne Hill councillor Jim Dickson as MP for Dartford, it is expected that a by-election will be soon be called in Herne Hill Ward. 

In preparation for a potential by election in Herne Hill we are inviting members to put themselves forward to be our Liberal Democrat candidate.  

If you are willing and eligible to be our candidate then please submit your nomination by Thursday 25 July at 9.00pm to our Elections Officer, Doug Buist by emailing: hello@lambethlibdems.org.uk

Please submit:

• a statement of no more than 300 words covering your reasons for standing and what you will bring as our candidate.

• a completed application form.

You will be required to undertake an approvals panel within a week of the deadline (times to be advised). Applicants who have been approved as a target ward candidate since 2021 will not be required to do this.  

We will advise of the final selection process to pick a candidate once we have reviewed applications. The successful candidate will be required to sign a candidate contract before being confirmed.
